HEAT!!!!

For some reason maybe for the fact that summer is upon us, it is so rediculously HOTT!!! It’s so uncomfortable. I think that if it was just 90degrees out then it wouldn’t be so bad, but the humidity is what is killing me. It’s just so hot and humid that I don’t want to do anything but swim and then sleep in an airconditioned room. When I get home I am going and taking my little brother down to the beach on my 4wheeler.

Americade

So at this time of year, every year, there is Americade. Americade as most of you may know is a time in Lake George when bikers from all over the state and country ride or bring their motorcycles to a huge convention for motorcycles. This is also known as Christian Bikers Week.

Now as my bus was driving home yesterday, there were bikes all over the back roads. Honestly they shouldn’t be on back roads where there are blind turns and the chance of big yellow bus coming your way to make their afternoon deliveries is a very good possiblilty. It would be one thing if they were cautious and not doing 50mph around the turns, but they weren’t. Most people are smart and use the main highway where they can more easily seen from a distance and where there is also no chance of ending up in someone elses lane, or someone else ending up in your lane due to tight turns and a narrow road. I’m not saying that I don’t like Americade because I do, I just think that people should be more cautious about where they ride.

Does anyone else get the feeling that the only time that you ever get your entire side of one family together(cousins, aunts and uncles included) that its either for a funeral because now there is one less of you or for a wedding because now there is one more of you? Well, that’s the way it seems to go with my dad’s side of the family. Maybe its true for all families, not quite sure. Anyway, when these things happen somehow instead of the whole event being focused on the couple that just got married, or the one person that just died, well it tends to turn out more like a family reunion instead of one of the other two. I would imagine that a family reunion would be a good thing but not always apparently. I mean there are those families with people in them say an aunt, uncle, cousin, or sister/brother in-law that absolutely hates a few people in your family so the whole family reunion thing isn’t really a family reunion afterall. Instead that one person that hates the other just ruins that whole experience because they choose not to talk to certain people in the family and their kids. I’m sure every family has this issue or at least some form of this issue anyway.

Ace and Bella

So a couple of weeks ago my sister went out and bought a new puppy. She was ten weeks old and she is a golden retriever.

So she thinks that she rules the whole entire house. Which is kinda funny I do have to admit. When she and Ace are outside together she takes his leash and walks around with it. Quite cute, or at least i think. I think this mostly because Ace isn’t the smallest dog in the world, and here he is being walked around by a little golden retriever.

However Ace likes to control everything. It is natural for a german shepherd to want to control everything, and wanting to know where everyone is at all times. So Ace feels the need to go after the cats whenever he thinks that they are misbehaving. If are in our house and you say one of the cats names he will go after them, its kinda funny but mean at the same time. So when he thought that Bella was doing something wrong or when you yelled at Bella he would run at her and then grab ahold of her neck. We are thinking about sending away to get him trained so he will stop doing things like that and start paying better attention to us.

So what do you think of people that obviously have a problem with you, but they can’t say anything to your face. Instead of saying something they just sit there and make rude comments behind your back and are nice to you to your face or instead of making comments at all are just plain downright rude to you in general. I don’t think that I have ever dealt with anyone that dislikes me so much that they can’t stand next to you, or give you dirty looks when they think that you aren’t looking. Another thing that I love about people is that apparently you aren’t paying attention to what is going on around you when your head is buried in the book that you just so happen to be reading at that very moment in time, but you are. However, that very person that apparently dislikes you or maybe even hates you is making comments to another person about what they should do to you, because you just so happen to be sitting right in front of them. Yea, did you honestly think that I wouldn’t notice that? Guess what, if you did you were very wrong. People in general need to think about what they are doing to other people and the way that they feel before they go and say stuff behind other people’s backs or make rude faces or gestures to a person that apparently doesn’t know whats going on when in fact they actually do, you just don’t know that they are paying attention.

Another thing that really irritates me about people is lying. I kno that I personally lie sometimes but not on a daily basis to the extent of some people. I hate people that lie, whether it be to me or to someone else around me. Lying is not something that comes naturally it has to be learned or taught. You can’t just wake up one day and say oh I’m going to lie about everything just because, especially when these would be the first lies that you ever told. You would get caught in every single one. I hate it most when people lie about the relationships that they are in. For example; say someone you liked(guy or girl) was dating someone and then they broke up with them, or so they said. However, you asked them if they actually did and they said that they did, and at that point you and this person started hanging out more and more. Well how would you feel when this person that you liked had said that they weren’t even talking to or seeing this ex of theirs anymore, when a very recent picture of the two of them came out and somehow made its way back to you. Obviously your trust in people goes away. Obviously you may never want to see this person again, and obviously there is something wrong with them for doing that to you and lying to your face every single day. It doesn’t really matter though, in the end you realize that that was a waste of time and that there are better people out there that you could be spending your time with.

Can you stay mad at someone forever? Who knows. Is it worth the time to stay mad at someone forever? No. What about lying to someone, is that worth the effort of having to keep your stories straight and know who you told what story and which story belongs to which lie? No, lying is a waste of time and you will eventually get caught in every single one in the end. In the end of everything the truth will always come out and you will be in more trouble in the end than you would be in the start if you actually told the truth to begin with.

Swimming

So according to my coach for the Long Course season of the summer of 2008, we have to attend all practices unless we notify him first. There are many rules that are now applied that weren’t applied to the short course season. I mean we will get kicked out of practice if we breath off the wall, if our streamlines aren’t good, and if we aren’t taking the practice seriously. Monday night Bryan told us a story about some seminar that he went to when he was in Massachusetts. Well this seminar had a coach that apparently told a few stories about some of the swimmers that he has coached and this coaches name is Bob Bowman. Now this coach told a very significant story about several years ago he was coaching a twelve year old boy. Apparently the boy came off of every wall and took a breath off of every wall. This child was a good swimmer and he was quite fast even at his age. When the coach continued to yell at him and he never changed his methods the coach started kicking him out of practice. After about twelve times of being kicked out his parents had arranged a meeting with his coach, him, and his parents, his father being a state trooper at the time. When Bob Bowman had told his parents that the reason for him being kicked out of practice was because he was breathing off the walls and that he thought that by kicking him out of practice that he would get the hint that being kicked out of practice will teach him not to breath off of the wall on the first stroke. Well he came back to practice and never took another breath off the wall again. Today, at this very day, he is training for the Olympics in Beijing. This boy would now be a seven time gold medalist with the name of Michael Phelps. So I think that because Bryan(my coach) heard this that he thinks that because Phelps got faster after he stopped breathing off the wall that we will do the same. Maybe we won’t go as far with our swimming career maybe we will, who knows. Although I’m not sure what to make of these new rules. Another new rule is that if you don’t show up to practice without notifying him of where you are and what you are doing, you do have a chance of being kicked off the team. Part of me thinks this is good, and the other part of me thinks that this whole experience is going to be extremely hard, but well worth it in the end.

Prom

So most likely everyone is writing about prom because it is only a week away. Everyone was really into talking about prom and everything before the new year. Everyone was already thinking about their dress and making limo arrangements. I don’t really see what the big deal is, I mean its just another dance where the girls are paying anywhere between $90-$600 for a dress, not to mention the hundreds of dollars that are being spent on the limo. The guys aren’t spending nearly as much because the only thing that they really have to worry about is making sure that their tux matches the girl’s dress and that costs some money but not nearly as much as the dress, and then maybe they are lucky and are paying for both the girl’s and their own ticket as well as the limo payment as well, that is if they are even getting a limo. I’m sorry but paying a whole bunch of money on a dance that really isn’t even worth it is stupid. Everyone in my family that has gone to prom says that it was a waste of time and money. You aren’t allowed to leave prom until 11:30 and then from there you have the option of going to the afterprom party but apparently that sucks and is a waste of time, oh you aren’t allowed to leave from there until 4:30 in the morning either and most people, like my sister, sleep through the whole afterprom party anyway. What a waste of time and money. Think of the many many hours that people spend on getting their dresses fitted and then the alterations and then the hair, the nails, the shoes, and all of the other shopping that goes along with it. After all that is done you have wasted well over 24hours of your like on a dance that you are going to regret ever going to for the rest of your life.

So what would you do if your teacher punished you for standing on a chair and then put you in time-out?

Would you:

a) say ok and get over it, I mean my god I stood on a chair

b)say something to your mom when you got home so she could deal with it

c) plot to kill your teacher while involving eight other students

Unfortunately nine third graders in a small town in Georgia had chosen choice c, sorry but that was the wrong choice there kids. Anyway, back to the one child who was punished for standing on a chair and then involving their classmates in killing their teacher. Yes, kids at that age may not understand what exactly they are getting involved in, but either way you don’t plot to kill your teacher unless something more is happening there that you don’t really appreciate and that goes against your moral values. Anyone elses thought on this issue would be great seeing as to how this is kinda a mind boggoling issue.

Okay, so this is kind of referring to Lesley’s post about how gross our school is. Well lunches tend to be an issue. Last I knew tater-tots were not supposed to be reheated. I mean in all honesty it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you cook tater-tots in the oven and then you re-heat them in the oven that they are going to be really hard and not the soft and niceness that you are supposed to have in a tater-tot. Well the school decided that instead of throwing them out that they would reheat them. Lets see when you bit into them Holly said “I feel like I’m eating sand”, haha, although that was very true. Another thing, the lunch ladies all wear hair nets and everything, but tell me something, how is it that almost everyday someone finds a hair in their food, there is something wrong there too. Anyone could really go on and on with this subject but I feel that it just leads to more discusting issues that need not be discussed.
